My mother-in-law is taking our two kids to have their photos taken by a professional. I’m coming along too, but I’m worried - How did you get your kids to sit still? Our daughter never stops fidgeting. Every time I try to take a picture she either makes a silly face or runs away! (She’s four) Any advice would be much appreciated. My mother-in-law would love a picture of her that isn’t blurry. Our son is better behaved in front of the camera, luckily. Advice? Thanks!

If you have a good photographer, he will be able to get the kids settled and a good picture taken. The important thing is to follow his lead , he should have a lot of patience and not be in a rush.
I have an autistic, hyperactive 6 yr old and an infant, and somehow we ended up with wonderful pictures!! The photographers know what they are doing, they can get any kid to take a good pic.
its thear job and some how they work with the wildest of kids dont worry just enjoy the day xxx
stand in back of the photographer and make funny faces or play with a toy or something to catch her attention. Wave your hands, peek out from both sides of the photographer, or anything.
i would try to bribe them with something. ice cream after the pictures if they are well behaved.
I was photographer for over a year and they know what to do and how to get them to stay still and if your kids are still fidgeting then ask if you should help like stand behind them or would they rather you stay to the side because if you are calling your kids there eye direction can be off and you will not get that pop of them looking directly into the camera and that taked something away from the pic. But if you know what you want when you go in there it should go smoothly and they have lots of props your children can hold on to so that fit well with the Backgrounds and that will help. And some Photo studios have walkable cameras where if your little one is walking around and does something cute they can snap the pic. It is so much fun just relax and go with the flow and if they turn out where one is fudgeting you can always buy it and say well They capture her really well… lol Gl
