I want to get my tongue pierced, I don’t want my parents to know though.
I’m only 17, but my friend is 23 and said she’ll sign for my mom. Does my mom have to be with me/sign the permission form in front of the piercer?
I really want to get it done in a professional place just so I feel safer. I was just curious about the laws.

Your mother, if you’re under age (most places it’s 18), your parent has to be there to sign the permission slip. Though, they wouldn’t have to be in front of you when the piercing occurred.

At the shop we own only a legal gaurdian can sign for a minor, other than that you have to be 18
yes your mother has to be there
i found out the hard way that the business owner doesn’t want to comprise their license just for a quick buck. so sometimes its better to wait than to hide to get what you want
don’t do this it will be an open door for bacteria to get in your blood stream. people who have done this reported heart problems later and blood diseases. chewing food with this piercing will probably 9 out of 10 tries will chip a tooth. besides if it is gonna be done only women should be doing it. hence the sexual gain is the main reason.
Your legal guardian MUST be there with proof of your birth date and his/her guardianship [i.e. a birth certificate].
BTW–it’s not that you “feel” safer getting a tongue ring professionally done–it IS safer. There’s just a couple major arteries in your tongue…no big deal if you pierce those, right?
wrong.
It has to be a LEGAL GUARDIAN, that is the law. It cannot just be some random person over a certain age - they will check ids if they have any standards at all.
I advise you not to get a tongue piercing.
