Misdemeanor - USPS applicant?

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008
nick asked:

I am coming in for an interview for USPS Rural Carrier Associate (federal job) and must complete application. Please help on question 7a that ask about criminal history. Thank you!!

Pay attention to (3)***

7a.Have you ever been convicted of a crime or are you under any charges for any offense against the Law? You may omit: (1) any charges that were dismissed or resulted in acquittal; (2) any conviction that has been set aside, vacated, annulled, expunged, or sealed; (3)*** any offense that was finally adjudicated in a juvenile court or juvenile delinquency proceeding; and (4) any charges that resulted only in a conviction of a non-criminal offense. All felony and misdemeanor convictions and all convictions in state and federal courts are criminal convictions and must be disclosed. Disclosure of such convictions is required even if you did not spend any time in jail and /or were not required to pay a fine.

Ok…so, I was 15 years old… on April 1997… was caught taking 1 pair of basketball shorts ($20) at mall… parent pick me up at police station… paid a $200 fine…never went to court…been clean since 1997… 2008 now I am 26…. Its been 11 years… misdemeanor not sealed…

Should I disclose the petty theft charge (misdemeanor) and explain in the application or should I say no b/c its been over 10 years?

Do USPS (federal jobs) do background checks pass 10 years?

But if I say no…and USPS finds out after they employed me… Can I used the above (3)***… in my defense?

I need professional facts or opinions from person(s) with law experience or works in USPS. Thank you.

Nick.

A group of 40 local citizens wish to form an organization , Citizens Against Corrupt Cops.

We are willing to contribute shared financial resources , professional expertise and experience , time and volunteer work. No one gets salary. You contribute for free what you can to organiztion in terms of times.

We want to take on figuring out how to control our cops / challenge some practices / laws.

We will purchase attorneys / media advertsing and try to attract other lilke minded membership / campaign sort of contributions ? To continue to fund our mission statement and vision of future operations ?

We also need to have a bank account / accountant . Probably as first expenses with attorneys . Do we need public or private corporations .

We hope to be as successful as MADD .. Mothers Against Drunk Driving was to change laws regarding corroptuion in police.

Sen. Chuck Schumer $4000 Tax Credit?

Thursday, March 13th, 2008
pantocrator asked:

I recently graduated college in May 06 in New York. Sen. Chuck Schumer spoke at our commencement, saying that he would grant/pass law/ something regarding a $4000 tax credit for parents of students paying tuition. My question is this:

1.) Has anyone heard of or know of this? Let me say that I have searched for it in the State and Federal Tax code and haven’t found it. And if anyone has heard of it…

2.) Could I myself claim the credit because as a student I paid my own way independent of parent. I am an older student who returned to college. Any help would be great.

3.) Anyone know a Tax professional I could ask about this in the Rochester NY area for a minimum fee?

recently my sister-in-law verbially attacked me and my husband said that it was between us and that he could not back me up. she was lieing about everything. she said that I have personal problems and should see a professional, that I **** my life and the world and everyone in it. that I snap at everyone. that I don’t have any friends and is a depressing person. that I bring nothing but gloom where ever I go. that I am the one that causes all the problems at work, that it is always me and I drive the other employees away. my husband just stood there and let her talk to me that way. I would back him up if someone was verbially attacking him.

Tongue piercing laws?

Saturday, March 8th, 2008
Ashley J asked:

I want to get my tongue pierced, I don’t want my parents to know though.

I’m only 17, but my friend is 23 and said she’ll sign for my mom. Does my mom have to be with me/sign the permission form in front of the piercer?

I really want to get it done in a professional place just so I feel safer. I was just curious about the laws.

Did you have family photos taken? Advice?

Saturday, March 8th, 2008
Olivia J asked:

My mother-in-law is taking our two kids to have their photos taken by a professional. I’m coming along too, but I’m worried - How did you get your kids to sit still? Our daughter never stops fidgeting. Every time I try to take a picture she either makes a silly face or runs away! (She’s four) Any advice would be much appreciated. My mother-in-law would love a picture of her that isn’t blurry. Our son is better behaved in front of the camera, luckily. Advice? Thanks!

Where did all Obama’s money come from?

Saturday, March 8th, 2008
aiminhigh24u2 asked:

Where did the money come from?

Please take the time to read it: To All My Friends, this is long, but very important; please take the time to read it.

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News,
you might get some middle ground to work with.

About six months ago, I started thinking “where did the money come from for Obama”. I have 2 stepsons and a daughter, who went to College, and we were middle class,
and money was tight. We (including our kids) worked hard and there were lots of student loans. So, I started looking into Obama’s life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental; he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. “Barry” (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates,
Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a “round the world” trip.
Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeksin Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his
father’s family. My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in
college.

When Obama came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It iwas then that he decided he wanted everyone to call him Barack - not Barry.
Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap! To say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe.
After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. A year! Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By “chance” he met Antoin “Tony” Rezko, born in Aleppo, Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year.
Rezko, was named “Entrepreneur of the Decade” by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association”.

About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition costs for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law
School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill
& Galland. Guess what? They represented “Rezar” which is Rezko’s firm. Not surprisingly, Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for
office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which the Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama
with “seed money” for his U.S. Senate race.

In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price).
With ALL those Student Loans – Where did he get the money for the property?

On the same day, Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned
Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.
Now, we have Obama running for President.

Valerie Jarrett was Michele Obama’s boss. She is now Obama’s chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was
Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was “sacked” after the press found out he was having regular contacts with “Hamas”, which
controls Gaza and is connected with Iran. This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama’s visit to Iraq, he asked their
leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will “Take care of things”.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those “small” Internet campaign contributions for
Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip made by Obama on

Asian Attorneys?

airforcewolf asked:

Hello I’m an Asian American and am considering law school. The only problem is that, unlike other professional fields such as engineering, business, and health-care, there seems to be very few Asian Americans pursuing law. Is there a reason for this? Should this be a concern in my decision to pursue law?
